Immigration Advice and Representation

srasraGreater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit (GMIAU) specialises in advising and representing people who live in Greater Manchester in their immigration and asylum cases. We are an independent organisation and our service is entirely confidential. This means that NOTHING you tell us will be passed to anyone else unless you give us permission to do so.

You can get advice from us in the following ways

Written Referrals: We can take referrals from individuals and agencies. If you wish to refer yourself or another person you should ring our main number 0161 740 7722 and ask for a referral form. We can send this to you by email or by post. You will be asked about your situation and the help that you need. All referrals are considered at a weekly casework meeting. If we cannot take on your case we will advise you of this after the meeting and give you details of other organisations that might be able to help you. If we take on your case we will arrange an appointment to see you.

You can send the completed referrla form to referrals@gmiau.org or fax 0161 740 5172

Duty Advice service (drop-in): see next page for details.
